Christ of the Community

Jesus is the main figure on this Christ of the Community Cross from El Salvador. The vibrant symbols on this cross show that Jesus is ever-present with the villagers as He lovingly looks after them.

Christ is the center of the villagers' lives and all their activities revolve around Him: fishing the stream, working in the fields, washing clothes, caring for the family, studying lessons and having fun (note the child flying a kite!)
