The Divine Mercy image shown here is a rendition that was painted by Adolph Hyla for saving his family during the war in Poland.

Divine Mercy Picture

The focus of this picture is Jesus, the Divine Mercy. His right hand is raised in blessing, while His left hand points to His Heart from where two rays come forth. The rays represent the blood and water that flowed from Christ's side when His Heart was was pierced with the lance. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls and the pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous.

Jesus appeared to Saint Faustina in this manner and instructed her to have a painting created as she saw Him. He also told Saint Faustina that under the picture was to appear the words: "Jesus, I Trust in You". He told her that this was because of the lack of trust man has in Him. He told her, "How painfully distrust of My Goodness wounds Me!"

The original painting of Divine Mercy was a disappointment to Saint Faustina, but Jesus told her: "Not in the beauty of the colour, nor of the brush lies the greatness of this image, but in My Grace." He also told her: "My Gaze from this image is like My Gaze from the Cross."

Picture measures approximately 14" x 18" including wood gold frame. Non-glare glass is used.
